What we collect
If you sign up on this site, we collect:
- your email address
- the date and time you signed up
- the wording you agreed to when you signed up, so we have a record of your consent
We don't ask for your name, we don't build profiles, and we don't buy or sell mailing lists.
What we use it for
We use your email address to tell you when our new website launches and to send occasional news about our games, such as releases and updates. We won't use it for anything else, and we won't pass it to other companies for their own marketing.
Our lawful basis
We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Our emails are also covered by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, which require your consent before we send you marketing by email. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing us. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Who handles your information
This site and the sign-up list are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as our processor. The list is stored in a Cloudflare database located in the European Union, which the UK recognises as providing adequate protection for personal data. Cloudflare may access data from other countries to run and secure its service; where that happens, transfers are covered by the UK safeguards in Cloudflare's data processing terms.
We haven't sent any emails yet. Before we do, we'll name the service we use to send them here.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If we close the mailing list, we delete everything on it. When you unsubscribe, we delete your address straight away.
Visiting the site
This site doesn't use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or social media embeds. Our fonts and images are served from this site, not from third parties. Like any website, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a secure website for this. Our own logs don't record email addresses, and they are deleted automatically after a few days.
Children
The mailing list is for people aged 13 and over. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before signing up.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it or delete it
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to how we use it
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
- withdraw your consent at any time
To use any of these rights, email hello@chartistgames.co.uk. We'll reply within one month. There's no charge.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll email the people on our list before it takes effect.
